HFW May Day #2: Style it, Purple Leopardess!

Assalamualaikum..
Here is the day 2's theme: Favorite Hijab!
 I called this scarf purple leopardess as its print like leopard yet in greyish purple shades; and I tagged it as my fave simply due to its light cotton material and comfort! I can just effortlessly wrap it over my inner hijab without me worrying it'd be messy, hehee..
The scarf's pattern also inspired me to choose this dark grey loose top and pair it with these new purple  cotton wide-pants tailored by my Mom (thanks, Mom! Yayy!). Not forget to mention, these spectacles (again!) complete my geeky look, totally! :D

HFW May Day #1: Lecturer on Duty!

Assalamualaikum..

We're kicking off the Day 1 of HFW, yayy!! :D

The first day's theme is Leaders in Hijab. 

As I mentioned in the title, yes I'm a lecturer, an English-language lecturer to be exact. I'm teaching in the same Health College as I posted in my former HFW participation.

This is me in Batik, one of my usual Friday attire. Yep, Friday is Batik Day! I think you already knew that Batik has been declared by UNESCO as the world cultural heritage originally from Indonesia. Ever since then, almost all institutions and departments (both state and private) here rule their employees to wear Batik, especially on Friday. No exception in my college I'm working on, though it's not compulsary for the lecturers.

Anyways, how is the Batik top, d'ya think? I got it for free from my friend whose brother is a Batik products seller, hehee.. I adore its model like kimono and the wide-cut sleeves are also so comfortable making me easy to move and write on the board while teaching. :p The black chained belt gives me a good shape and somehow sweetens the look. And with those spectacles and dictionary I look simply professional, don't I? :D

Outfit: brown Batik top (a gift from a friend) / light brown Paris scarf / unbranded black chained belt / DIY cream flower brooch.

Style Saturday: Minty Slouchy Look

Hello everyone..

It's a loooonngg weekend here! And I spent the whole yesterday catching up with my girl-friends; watching the most-hyped superheroes movie The Avengers, having nice dinner at the road-side, then ending up in a cozy cafe doing some girl stuffs, like you know, gossiping and updating our lovebirds stories.. hahaa. Ahh, I'd just like to have everyday like yesterday.. :P

Well, this is what I wore yesterday. A slouchy look in mint and blue hues. I don't know I just recently in love with those colors; contrasting yet well-blended perfectly together, don't ya think?   

Outfit: unbranded electric blue top / unbranded mint cardigan / unbranded blue flowery shawl / Dust denim / Amanda Jane's nude pink flats.

Anyways, another meet-up with the girls is on its way this afternoon.. Today's agenda isn't just haha-hihi like we had yesterday, though, it's more into something useful for others instead.. Hopefully it's going all well.. Curious what is it? Stay tuned! :p

Assalamualaikum, Lovelies..

I'll be joining along in this event again for this May season, so it'll be my second time.. hehee.. 

My previous participation was great. I was having so much fun, keeping  up with other stylish participants from all over the world! Most importantly, I have also been inspired by and have inspired others (I'm not sure about the last one, though!lol) while still sticking to Islamic guidelines for modesty in our looks.. :)

It will be held from May 28, 2012 - June 03, 2012, and here are the themes for this season's HFW:

Day 1 - Leaders in Hijab: What leadership roles do you have & how do you dress for them as a hijabi?

Day 2 - Favorite Hijab: Create an outfit inspired by your favorite Hijab!

Day 3 - Time Travel: Bring something back from the past and combine it with a recent item or trend!

Day 4 - Destinations: If you could go anywhere for fun, where would you go & what would you wear?

Day 5 - Special Occasions: Eid, formal, etc. How do you stay modest when you need to get decked out?

Day 6 - Date Night: What would be the perfect date with the (future) hubby?

Day 7 - Style Crush: Choose an HFW participant's style to try out with your own clothes! Show us which participants inspired you, or mirror a style that you might never have tried before! 

Well, hopefully I could manage to share my looks just in time as you know, I'll be occupied when it starts..
